CREOSON 4.0.0 Web Shell Example (beta)
We recently crossed 16,000+ downloads for CREOSON 🎉 - a FREE / Open Source interface for automating Creo Parametric. Massive interest in automating Creo Parametric this year!
CREOSON 4.0 (currently in beta) is the next major release, and will have amazing capabilities for automating Creo Parametric - specifically an MCP (Model Context Protocol) Interface for AI Agents.
As we were developing that MCP / AI Agent Interface for CREOSON 4.0, we realized that there was still a significant gap between CAD Users, Developers, without AI being in the mix.
That gap is significant - CAD Users are typically not Developers, Developers are typically not CAD Users. Creo Parametric is basically a queryable and actionable database of user content (parts, assemblies, drawings, etc.) via Creo APIs (e.g. JLINK). CREOSON was designed to provide a generic API to JLINK - but simpler and easier to understand, navigate, and use. Basically, the objective was to create APIs that a user could easily identify and relate to in their own workflows with Creo Parametric.
Sooo… We decided to try something new to close that gap - CREOSON Web Shell - and it turns out it is pretty handy/useful. The CREOSON Web Shell can be used in the Creo Parametric Session Web Browser (or externally in a separate Web Browser). This provides two (2) benefits:
- Creo Parametric Users can run CREOSON commands to do quick operations… like create, read, update, delete parameters from all models in session, or other operations, etc..
- Creo Parametric Developers can use use the same CREOSON commands to understand the JSON calls and see them work while developing or just to learn how they work with Creo Parametric.
The CREOSON Web Shell is currently in beta for CREOSON 4.0… not official yet, but it is looking to be very useful. Here is a preview recording of the CREOSON Web Shell…
