Adding views to a subart of Inseparable assembly

  • If you modify a part within an inseparable assembly, the modification state of the inseparable master is also updated. If you store the recently modified parts of an inseparable assembly using Save Modified, the whole assembly is stored.

The modification is done by adding an additional view. As a consequence all views of the inseparable and the sheet gets the state “update needed”.

This behavior, in some situations, is not the best, because to update assembly views may require several minutes

That is exactly what an inseparable is all about. If you want to detail individual parts, then do not use an inseparable.  As far as an assembly goes, if you update a single part, then a whole assembly drawing would need updating.

inseparable assemblies are intented to represent "purchase parts"

(a complete assembly is provided by a supplier)

Therefore, modifications to parts (or subassemblies) inside a inseparable are questionable.

What is your use model for Inseparables?

Inseparable assembly can be used for welded assembly too, (other cads uses multibodies tecnology to manage this kind of assemblies).

As you know, in many companies, welded assemblies are built outside, by third parts.

This means they are maneged as a single CODE (PART ID) inside company, but they are assemblies in Techincal Department. Same situation as "purchase parts".

Difference is that often, is necessary to add subpart views in assembly drawing to annotate single "plate".

This drive to behavior I wrote, and to enhancement I suggesting.
