Transfer Kepware Licenses Between Accounts

Hello Community,

I would like to transfer Kepware licenses from Account B to Account A.

Currently, I have access to Account B’s MyKepware portal credentials, where the licenses are registered.

Could someone please advise on the correct procedure to:

  • Transfer licenses from one MyKepware account to another

  • Confirm what information is required (Sales Order number, Support ID, etc.)

  • Understand whether this process must be handled directly through PTC Support

If this requires submitting a support case, please confirm the recommended category and required documentation.

Please coordinate with our sales team ( sales@kepware.com) to update the email address associated with MyKepware account.

 

While Kepware licenses are not tied to the account used to activate them, the recommended method to move license visibility or manage licenses under a new account is to:
 
Transfer the license from the license utility using new MyKepware account, then reactivate the license. This ensures your licenses are fully manageable under the new MyKepware account going forward.

I am writing to inform you that PTC Kepware product licenses are not tied to the account used for activation or the account used for purchasing them. Any user with a valid MyKepware account can perform licensing actions as needed.

Thank you for the clarification regarding Kepware licenses not being tied to the MyKepware account used for activation or purchase.

I would like to clarify my situation further:

I created a MyKepware account (Account B) and used it to generate several Kepware licenses. I have now created a new account (Account A), and I would like those licenses to be visible under this new account.

Based on your previous response, I understand that licenses are not directly tied to the account. However, when attempting to change the email address associated with the original account, I receive the following error:

“Please contact support.”

I have attached a screenshot of the error message for reference.

Could you please advise:

  • Is it possible to change the email address associated with a MyKepware account?

  • If not, what is the recommended way to manage licenses under a new account?
