Question

Collision awareness in NC Manufacturing.

I am trying to find a good way to set a collision or avoidance region away from my fixture. Is this even possible within creo, or is everything just set automatically? I know you can't add the fixture as a check surface in any of the operations because it isn't the reference model. So where exactly can you configure your fixtures avoidance regions?

Using module works simulations (built in to creo) you can set a distance to warn you about collisions within a distance range. Default is 1.00

You might not be able to use the fixture as a check surface, but maybe you could build a simple surface within the manufacturing assembly itself, based upon the fixture.

Alternatively, you could load the fixture in as an additional reference model. Creo will let you load as many reference models as you wish, so maybe this will let you use the fixture surfaces, too.
