COLORING OF SPLIT INSERTS IN MANUFACTURING-MOULD CAVITY

Hai,

We are into color coding in mould insert manufacturing. currently all inserts have to be coloured manually. Iam checking for option of coloring the inserts automatically in the software itself. Please refer below picture for example for the coloring requirement.

The splitting work is done in manufacturing (mould cavity) mode. after splitting the insert is coming as below

the requirement is at least fitting area color change to either brown or yellow automatically (both can be achieved will be great).

kindly let me know how this can be made. Any help will be appreciated. Iam using Creo 7.

The only possibility I can conceive of would be to use layer rules to add surfaces to a layer. You can then select surfaces by layer and assign the color. This is not completely automated but could save time. With a mapkey run when finished working on a component it would update the color assignments by layer.

 

B&W software makes a SmartColor add on for Creo to handle this type of task, so it is probably not easily implemented in Creo without some customization.

I am using flexible offset for the fitting & pocket area with 0.00 offset value. later i will color the feature with yellow & brown respectively. Now the issue i am facing is once regenerate the assembly, the flexible offset feature will change the color to its parent color which is blue. In Creo 3 it was not happening. But from Creo 7 this is this way. if there is any possibility to avoid this color change (like configuration change) that will be helpful.
