Has anyone come up with a way to export the centerline of cooling lines or solids of cooling lines from a mold design? We are being requested this from customers and simulation contractors.

Hello dplacinski,

in case you are working with Expert Moldbase Extension you can achieve this by using the Extract Waterline Model fucntionality

Help Center - Chapter Extract Waterline Model

There is an Option call Create mold flow curves for analysis

As a quick summary:

1. Extract Waterline creates a new part/assembly which contains cooling surface (Can be created by EMX cooling components or PTC Waterline Feature) and other cooling related information (Solids/curves)

2. In case option Create mold flow curves for analysis is used all Sketch features with curves that contain the Integer Parameter called FOR_MOLDFLOW the Curves will be extracted and added to an individual model which summarizes all curves.

You can have a look to the EMX Tutorial chapter for this feature as well on our B&W Software Website:

B&W Software Tutorial - Extract Waterline Model

Kind Regards

Thomas

@tschneyer thanks for the reply. However, we do not have a license for EMX. I was looking for a solution in Cero Tool Design Extention.
