Algebraic equation solver for unknown variable

please see the attached file and can any one explain me how the variable given T.max_2_10k_relief is not affecting the algebraic equation to get the end result.can some one explain what is going on in the background and is it the correct method to follow.

You've defined T.max_2_10k_relief, then immediatley undefined it for symbolic use. But the remainder of what you show does NOT involve symbolic evaluations/calculations.

So T.max_2_10k is just calculated based upon what the numeric calculator has and knows, which includes T.max_2_10k_relief = 1 lbf.

The only part where T.max_2_10k depends on T.max_2_10k_relief is in the final root. Is it possible that sigma * y squared is much much larger than 3 * T.max_2_10k_relief squared, and therefor you (seem to) see no influence of T.max_2_10k_relief on T.max_2_10k?
