1) F2: results depends on the guess value. You have at least two different solutions.

2) Fred already explained that you have a discontinous function. Maybe you want to make yourself acquainted with the numerical methods involved (LM)

Furthermore you have to consider that neither atan() nor ln(complex) are unique functions. So the result you are given by Mathcad is just one out of an infinite number. That also seems to be the reason for the discontinuities.

It may help if you would explain in detail where those equations stem from and what you are trying to achieve.
