You'd use 'Auswertung deactivieren' when you are editing in calculations that take a long time to complete. That will enable you to move from equation to equation making changes, without being bothered by having to wait for calculations to complete between each of your single edits.
If all your calculation(s) are simple and fast, you can keep the setting 'Auswertung activieren'.
