Automatically Replace a Derivative in an Equation with a Function?

It appears that it is not possible to find a derivative-operator in an equation and replace all instances of it with a function.

You cannot paste the derivative-operator into the Find-field of the Replace-Window.

Is there a trick?

You can't search for and/or replace many of the operators, including the derivative operator.
