Question

Chart component / Resolution (pixels)

Hi,

The visual quality of chart components (MathCad 10) when printed (pdf) seems not as good as that of "standard" plots, and changing dpi in printer settings didn't help there.

Is there any tip to improve this?

Thanks for your help,
Cédric

Can you provide worksheet example?

The attached worksheet was printed to files (not device) using Microsoft pdf print driver and using Prime 10 save to pdf.

The plot content is simple (thanks, Fred K), but the resolution seems the same to my untrained eyes.

Sure, here are 2 printouts, one with MC "saved as pdf", the other printed with pdfXchange.

In both cases, pixels are visible when zooming on chart components.

Confirmed!

Here Prime's native plot

and here the Chart component

Prime's native plot is a shame in many ways, especially given that one of PTC's main programs is a full fledged CAD application. But obviously it has the advantage that its not limited to a fixed pixel resolution.

I guess there is nothing that could be done on your part to significantly improve the quality of the printouts other than hoping for an improvement in a future version of Prime.

If you feel better doing so you can submit a suggestion for improvement as an ‘idea’ and hope that it will be considered --> Mathcad Ideas
