Hi Antony,

I am a long retired Australian Civil Engineer, lost count of the portals I designed.

Your sheet is very professionally set out and easy to follow.

On uploaded version the header footer problem seems to be fixed?

.

Strand7 and other steel design/assess programs can read a text file of input.  You can see what one looks like by exporting file type "Strand7 Text File" from your assignment. Now here's the rub.  It is possible using a Prime worksheet to generate such a Prime text file.  Means you never have to go through all the work again just start with a few parameters describing the building size and which wind zones apply and generate a Strand7 text file with all the calculated loads and load cases.

In practice you don't use Strand7 as it does not design/assess the steel against AS4100 you would use a program that does.  I still own a license to Strand7, but the same goes a text file can be used to generate text entry to such other design/asses programs.  The other program I used to assess/design Australian steel to Australian codes in practice is no longer existing.

It would make a great final year project to establish such a Prime worksheet to write the input text file entry to suit one of the steel assess/design programs used in Australia now.  Like Spacegass or Bentley Staad.Pro

Cheers

Go to ribbon "Document", choose "Header" and click (deselect) the options "Show Grid" and also "Show Frame"

From your screenshot it looks like you accidentally turned on these two options while you had selected the header area (maybe by double clicking) and actually wanted the options to take effect for the worksheet area.

"Show Grid" affects both header and footer. that's the reason why you see the grid also in the footer area. Turn if off for the header and it also will be turned off for the footer.

The sheet you posted does not show the effect seen in your screenshot - did you post the correct file in question.

Did you try to turn off "Show Grid" and "Show Frame" in the header area as suggested above?
