hi

I'm in charge of application support.  How do you generate a mathcad usage report?  i would like to see a list of machine names/usernames/ datetimes and license number to see who is using what version and when?

I have tried doing this through the ptc community website it all it gives me is the license and subscription information.  not the detailed users who are checking out the licenses.

thanks

1. You can find the "FLEXnet Licensing End User Guide" PDF guide in the attachment.
2. Article - "[Knowledge Hub] PTC License Server: FLEXnet Publisher": https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs280712

Hi,

if you own locked licenses, you cannot generate such a report at all.

If you own floating licenses, you can:

  • run ptcstatus.bat on license server (it is located in bin subdirectory of FLEXNET installation directory)
  • analyze the contents of log file (it is located in licensing or logs subdirectory of FLEXNET installation directory)

Nothing more is available OOTB.

I don’t see the file ptcstatus.bat

Please advise where else I can try?

Hi,

1.] Verify whether your license is floating one.

License file must contain two lines similar to following ones:

SERVER __HOSTNAME__ PTC_HOSTID=00-11-22-33-44-55 7788
DAEMON ptc_d __PTCD_PATH__

2.] Search whole disk C: for ptcstatus.bat

3.] By default current version of FLEXnet is installed in C:\Program Files\PTC\FLEXnet Admin License Server directory.

ptcstatus.bat is located in bin subdirectory.
