How to use special symbols in variables

Hi all,

I am trying to use a special symbol in a variable name. To do this I have tried using the special symbol function  by pressing ctr - shift - k and then typing the symbol I would like to use. This works however I seem to keep getting an error message when I try assign a value.

For example I wish to do the following:

I have tried both equal operators but none seem to do the trick. Any help on how I can achieve this would be greatly appreciated. I am using MathCad 15 but also have access to MathCad Prime as well so I am keen for any solution that will work.
