Huge table

Note that 'Tables' in Prime are for input only. You cannot use tables to show results of calculations or imported data.

You create a table using the menu and keyboard shortcuts. Are you planning to type all the 1339 data in by hand?

I think you are better off by embedding your data as an excel item. From there you can read the data columns, rows and items into appropriate variables for further processing.

You can create a table in Prime inside an Area.  When the Area is collapsed the table will not be visible.  

Tables are clunky.  Like Luc said - there are better ways.  READEXCEL or similar work great for larger sets.  Tables seem really slow if you're doing something intensive.

If you have to use a table, best thing is to put the table in a collapsible area so you don't have to look at it.  

In which format that data originally is present?

When you write "without using excel", does that mean that you don't want to maintain a separate Excel sheet to be read in via READEXCEl, or does it also mean that you do not want to use an embedded Excel component in Prime?.

You can't resize a table to just show the first few elements. But a table does nothing more than defining single vectors (= n x 1 matrices). So you could simply define those vectors yourself right from the start. That way you could resize the vector even while you are typing in the values.

But I assume that you don't type in all the values manually but rather read them in from an external file. In that case you could copy and paste the data values to a vector which you later can resize to take up less space and can delete the read-in data, so the sheet still would be self contained.

Unfortunately copy & paste is implemented in Prime very silly and unprofessional. You would have to open the read-in data vectors to their full length to be able to copy all the data.

What you demand cold be achieved so much easier in Mathcad (v. 15 and below)  using Insert-Data-Table (not available in Prime) and a normal, more intelligent copy&paste implementation. But, alas, Mathcad is dead 😞
