Question

Integrating pressure vs volume in terms of angle theta

I'm trying to find the work done to compress a gas by integrating a pressure-volume graph in terms of the crank angle of a piston. When using the integral function in Mathcad, an error comes up saying that these units are not comparable for p(theta).  Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like you must be using Prime 4.0.  Many of us can't open Prime 4.0 files.  Coudl you also attach a PDF or screen shot?

You are integrating over angle, so the units of the limits should be angle. You have units of volume.

Hi,

You can eliminate the two Solve blocks with direct calculation if you want to streamline the sheet.

Use please

www.wsp.ru
