Hi

Attached is a mcdx file. I'm a novice at Mathcad. I have the value of E expressed in MPa and the value of I expressed in mm^4. When I multiply these two value Mathcad doesn't return proper units. Can someone let me know where I have gone wrong.

Kind Regards

Dear Mathcad User

Thanks for your response. The file I sent is part of a bigger problem. Take a look at the mcdx file (Uploaded as test.mcdx on PTC Mathcad community). Look at the last line. The equation for EI eff contains 3 components. Mathcad is throwing up a units issue only for Es*Is. If this component is removed from the EI eff equation it produces a result. The other 2 components of this equation also have the same issue i.e. E & I are being multiplied with the same units. How come the error pops up only when Es and Is are multiplied. Kindly let me know. Thank you.

ALL FIXED Test.png

Fixed: You did not have the MPa properly assigned to your numerical values.

I have sent you a fixed file on your email address.
