I am using the ctrl+enter feature to make my equations fit on one page. every time I need to factor it spreads it back out across 5 pages and I have to do it again. is there a feature to keep the original format of the equation?

You can't control the output of the symbolic processor, if that's what you mean.

Hi. This is a workaround, for some cases (for example, without radicals).

Copy the symbolic answer

Right click in the paper and choose "Past Special"

paste special.gif

Sometimes the option "Unformated text" is avaible

This is the result:
