Hello,

We upgraded License Server from Win 2003 XP to Win 2008 R2 x64.

Moved all MathCAD license server files to new server and also to C:\ instead of C:\Program Files.

Edited License.dat file with new Server name and HostID using cpu_id.exe file.

SERVER arlxflex PTC_HOSTID=00-50-56-90-32-A4 7788

DAEMON ptc_d "C:\SPPAL_LM\PTC_MathCAD\flexnet\i486_nt\obj\ptc_d.exe" "C:\SPPAL_LM\PTC_MathCAD\flexnet\licensing\ptc.opt"

I cannot make this server run.

Same error: -97, 121

The desired vendor daemon is down.

You can't just edit the license.dat file for a new host ID (if you could, it would be such worthless copy protection that there would be no point in even having the license file). You will have to get a new one from PTC.

Thank you Richard,

Your information is valuable.

We will proceed to renew support from PTC.

Some vendors license files allowed me to edit server information.

Sincerely,

Mario,

To transfer the license to another computer you need to use the option "Reconfigure Software Licenses" on PTC's site: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/lm/rsl/reconfig.jsp
