Hello! I am working in mathcad prime 9.0.0.0 and am wondering why mathcad calculates end result units like this:
why do the units on the results automatically display as such? To me it would be logical for it to display kip x ft as the unit since those are the units of the values being multiplied and is also a commonly used unit for moments or torques. Is there a way to get it to automatically show kip x ft as the units?
Prime always shows only the standard units for results (depending on the selected unit system).
You only have the option to turn on "Base Units" which would also not help in your case.
The displayed units can then be overwritten manually from result to result. Unfortunately, there is no option to request other units to be displayed automatically.
The current version of Prime (11) now also supports custom units, but unfortunately this is not yet very advanced or fully developed. But these custom units can be a solution to your problem. You can create a custom system based on USCS, add "Torque" under "Derived units" and chose "Foot-Kip" from the menu selected. But again, the option of creating custom units is not available in Prime 9.
