I need help with proving the above, in general case for p.

You may need to restrict the range of values of p that you want to prove it for. C(0) gives a "no symbolic result was found". C(1/2) does give a result.

I suspect you could prove it if you could restrict p to positive integers. I see no way Mathcad can do that.
