Opening legacy file created in Mathcad Prime 7.00

I attempted to use Mathcad Prime 11 to retrieve a Mathcad Prime 7.00 file I created but I could not. The file extensions appear to differ.  How can I retrieve this file into Version 11 without having to recreate it?  Thanks!

Thanks, all straight! Problem was temporary and could have been due to an internal software glitch. The computer worked fine on my second attempt.

Prime 11 should have no problems to open a file created with Prime 7.

Are you sure that the legacy file was created in an older version of Prime and not with 'real' legacy Mathcad (there were versions of Mathcad up to version 15).

If the file extension is .mcdx then the file should have been created with a version of Prime and the current version should be able to open it.

But if the extension is .mcd, .xmcd or .xmcdz, then the file was created in legacy Mathcad.

Prime comes along with a converter for such legacy files (you may have to check the option to install it during the installation process).

Did you try using the converter? In case you did not install it, you could simply run the installation again and this time check the appropriate option.

If possible you could also post the legacy file here in the forum and some kind soul may be willing to convert it for you.
