EDIT: OH, I just see that Fred had already posted a very similar answer, using a couple of auxiliary variables for better clearness.

BTW, Freds approach assumes that ORIGIN has its default value 0. In your sheet ORIGIN is set to 1, so you will have to make some minor changes in using his solution.

Hi,

It is possible if you use the technique of setting the structural global matrix diagonal to a very large number relative to values in the rest of the structural global matrix values.  In other words it is so stiff you get zero or really small values.

 

If you use the above technique you can solve the problem without programming by using only matrix manipulations.

 

Here is a portal frame analysis problem in Mathcad 15. You will need to convert it.
