Nice animation. It would appear to be the precession of a body spinning in space.

Would not such a body, if spinning on a table, have its lowest point fixed (stationary) on the surface?

But I like your animation better (than that of a spinning top), because of the symmetry of the circular figures swept out by the lowest and highest points.

There is no dynamics in this animation of course.

I’ve read your comment and now am going to realize what you have written. I mean Lagrange problem (rotation of a symmetric top about a fixed point in a uniform gravitational field in conditions that the fixed point is not the center of mass of the top and the center of mass lies on the spin rotation axis of the top).

But it’s a great deal I think.
