symbolic integration

hello,

i want to evalute the interation symbolically. but i am not able to do it with mathcad. please help me to solve this. i attached the problb sheet.

You can see the symbolic result if you break it into two parts.

Sometimes, if the resulting expression is not too large, it can help to demand for the result to be simplified.

In case of your integral "factor" does the job.

Unfortunately not. The integral won't show when you use "expand" instead of "factor".

And the splitting in two integrals is exactly what Alan suggested.
