This value must be a vector?

Can somebody point out where did i miss out in my program above? if I try "f" above using matrix "a", I get an error, but when I try "f1" using "b", its fine.

As Vladimir said please provide a worksheet.

But I can see the problem without one, a is a matrix and b is a vector. You need to specify which column of a you want to look in or write a program to search through both columns.

I think I understand a little bit what you mean mike....the above is what I've got, the result of something like "f" is what I wanted.
