Variable declaration doesn't work

I need the attached calculation of a spinde-driven gripper for a school project, but it doesn't work.

There are two things that are inexplicablefor me (in the yellow marked area; I think the problems below have the same reason):

  1. why is 5.1N/0.5 not calculated after the = operaror
  2. why is F.1 not defined afterwoods?

Before I added the explizit- commands everything worked perfectly, but my teacher wants the numerical value before the result.

I would be greatful for any ideas..

I don't experience any problems when I open your sheet.

Which version of Mathcad do you have in use?

Here is what I see when I open your sheet with no modification other than separating the regions where you evaluate F1 symbolically and numerically a little bit.:

Your document working fine in Mathcad 15 M040. In attachment you can see a result of calculation. Try to recalculate the whole worksheet by using "Ctrl + F9" hotkeys.
