Virtualisation of the licence server

Hi,

I have virtualize the server where I have the mathcad licence server. (LMTOOLS)

I want to know how to get a new licence file or how to modifiy the mac-adress of the file I have right now.

Does some one can help me?

Luc, there is an online tool for that called Reconfigure Software Licenses. This tool allows you to move a license from one server to another (change the PTC host ID), or to break it up into separate servers, or to simply deinstall a license. You can access this tool here: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/lm/rsl/reconfig.jsp.

Note that you need to upgrade your Basic Web account to a Customer Support web account to access any online licensing tool. By upgrading your account, you are associating your login credentials with your customer information. This protects the privacy and integrity of your data. To upgrade your account, you'll need one piece of identification: your customer number, service contract number or sales order number. Upgrade here: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/common/account/secure/premiumAccount.jsp.

thank you for your answer.

I try to rech this software but I get a message like this: Your web account does not have the necessary rights to access the following to this application

It is possible to download it at another place?

as per brent's email

To upgrade your account, you'll need one piece of identification:

your customer number (CUST), or

service contract number (SCN), or

sales order number. (SON)

Upgrade here: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/common/account/secure/premiumAccount.jsp.

You need to have bought the product, or maintenance, within the last year for you to be able to do that.

I'm still using the same SON that we have had for many years (i.e. since PTC took over MathSoft)

If you are out of time, then you have to send a nice, clear email to the licencing team with a clear statement that it is a transfer request and you will delete the old licence... Like most companies PTC are a bit paranoid about piracy etc.
