Where is all legacy Mathcad stuff ( Electronic Books, Add-ons for Mathcad 8, 2000, 2001, 2001i) ?

Where is all legacy Mathcad stuff ( Electronic Books, free Add-ons for Mathcad 8, 2000, 2001, 2001i) ?

Much of it was/is loadable even by newer and current Mathcad editions !

I did not find anything here, also Google does not find anything special if I look for "Mathcad Electronics Books".

Btw, I am still using Mathcad2001i - no software activation, enough math power -, for my own internal development purpuses. It runs well on W2k and WinXP.

If an employer or project owner asks me to do something with Mathcad, I expect a current version of course :-), thats the business.

With the newer Mathcad versions, it is still possible to save in the Mathcad 2001i format (but not in Mathcad 2001 format, or older ) :-).

With the newer Mathcad versions, it is still possible to save in the Mathcad 2001i format (but not in Mathcad 2001 format, or older ) 🙂

That is not quite correct. MC11 will save back to version 6. MC13 will save back to version 2001i. MC14 and 15 will save back to version 11 (I don't recall what MC12 could do, and can't be bothered to install it just to find out)

Richard, MC12 saves back to Mathcad 2001 -- I just checked.

I seldom use my copy of MC12, since MC13 seemed to be much more stable when it came out. And I continued to rely on MC13, even after MC14 came out, because MC14's print preview crash really ticked me off. I only started using MC14 when the M020 release came out and fixed the print preview crash.

Actually, the only reason I keep MC12 around now is to be able to compare its features with those of its predecessors and successors, as you are doing now.

I use MC11, for some legacy worksheets that will not work in later versions (due to SUC, the demise of the Numerical Recipes Function Pack, and a couple of other changes that occurred going to 12), and for the Maple symbolic engine. I use MC13 only for the Maple symbolic engine when the results are too large to display in MC11, and for testing/comparison. I use MC15 (and prior to that MC14) for everything else. The only thing I would ever use MC12 or was testing/comparison, so last time I went through the long and tedious process of installing all the Mathcad versions I couldn't be bothered with 12

I don't think you can be honest.

So if I press "home" on

I get to

but how to get back ?

There seems to be an error when you click 'home', which doesn't allow you to return to the previous page. To be honest I have tried clicking the 'home' link a couple of times and it only works sporadically. How about not pressing the home button, thus eliminating the need to press the back button

If I don´t use a deep link as I was told here,

how should customers go from the Matcad community main page

to the ressource page with the electronic books, and all the other links to the "Mathcad Resource Page" ?

There is some link "missing" AFAIK.

This is not an academic question, but a question how to use this website.

Indeed, I asked the question orignally, so that other users can "find" it.

you see the SAME page, but you cannot access all other menu items, it looks as if there is no "real" contents if you click on it.

where are the E-Books and the other stuff now, "in the community" if you moved it ( since yesterday ?! ) ?

I don´t see anything

And please answer the question about the workflow ( how to got from x to y ),

and PLEASE forward the discussion thread to the webmaster, so that he/she can fix the missing and broken links.

I already informed the webmaster,

but I don´t think that something will happen,

as the bad situation obviously lasts since many months...

Somehow, Mathcad is still struggeling with a post-merger syndrome ( of PTC, which consumed Mathcad's owner Mathsoft )....
