However , the READPRN function only imports .txt files that contain exclusively numbers, while my file ( Punti_Rilievo_OK_usabile_DEF.txt ) contains alphanumeric elements ...
I think I need to buy a laptop with Windows 10 Pro 64 bits installed and ask PTC to transfer my Mathcad 15 M50 license to the new hardware .
There's an already long lasting problem with this forum in that it often will not accept Mathcad and prime files. To attach those, first zip them, and attach the .zip file.
Vladimir N, certainly , but unfortunately the problem persists . If I had imagined this "big problem" I wouldn't have upgraded to Windows 11 Pro 64 bits - version 25H2 ( about nine months ago ) .
In my opinion , PTC didn't behave properly ; they should have at least adapted Mathcad15 M50 to be compatible with Windows 11 Pro 64 bites .
There are dozens of people who have been abandoned ... and they have a wealth of hundreds of files written with Mathcad .
Furthermore , PTC does not guarantee that the conversion of .xmcd files into the new Mathprime format will be 100% successful ...
That was about half a year before Windows 11 was released.... Long before that, PTC stopped updating Mathcad 15, so no updates of Mathcad 15 to accomodate Windows 11 are to be expected. Enjoy it as long as it works.
Does any of the two ways to import data found in the attached sheet work for you? I am not sure about the column widths used in the first method, though.
As Luc already wrote its often necessary to zip Mathcad files to be able to attach them here due to a bug in he forum software.
Mathcad 15 is not supported anymore by PTC. So there will be no updates, bug fixes or adjustments for new operating systems. I am not sure if PTC would be willing/able to provide you with a new license file for a different computer.
And yes, Prime still is not on the level with Mathcad(15) and converted files ever so often will not work or at least need some amount of manual rework.
