Why such Simplify?

Simple answer: Because its implemented that way.

We already know that Mathcads symbolics isn't top notch. It will simplify terms but not equations. So the left and right term of an equation will be simplified separately but there are no rearrangements made. Sometimes you get what you want using solve.
