I have seen this issue a couple times. It's because of a missed step in the configuration. See the documentation here, especially point #9 : adding the ThingShape. This documentation is for the latest version but I think this issue is the same in all versions.
Please try Asset Configuration again after doing this and confirm here if it solved your issue.
