Hi, I would like to find more info (visibility, run time, design time permissions) about the FactoryUsers and FactoryLicenses user groups. What are they for? And what's the major difference between them?

Platform: TWX 8.4 and Mfg. Apps 8.4

Hi @nquirindongo ,

FactoryLicenses - this group manages license seats i.e, this manages number of users to control the limit of users defined in the license.
FactoryUsers is for role and organizational access control.

The visibility, run time, design time permissions on these groups are maintained internally for executing services on these groups.

Thanks,

Himanshu

About the FactoryUser group, what's the default role, visibility, run time and design time permission? What tiles they can see as default? Or this group has no permissions or role at all as default?

About the FactoryLicenses group, Are these seats for "named" users only? Or it will include read only user too?

Thanks,

Nelson Q.

Hi @nquirindongo ,

Users part of only FactoryUsers group will not able to any of the tiles.

For a user to access manufacturing apps tiles, user needs to be a part of following three groups :

  • FactoryLicenses
  • FactoryUsers
  • Controls Engineer/Maintenance Engineer/Maintenance Manager or Production Manager (whatever required)

Also, FactoryLicenses group counts all users including read only users as well.
