I have a problem to find ground symbol in catalog?
I started a new project and found this issue: "cannot read the central catalog directory directory invalid" how do I set the central catalog directory to resolve this issue?
Hi! I' installing connector for 3DExperience and I have a problem with license of pro\E. it is "Unable to locate a valid pro\Toolkit license or "Creo Elements/Pro TOOLKIT Customization Kit API" license. Please check ypur license server, using ptcstatus.bat, to unsure it is up and running." When I run ptcstatus.bat, it indicates that server is up. And all installed application is working fine. I hopefor your help.
I am attempting to build up a new Connector Shape in Creo Schematics that will support adding Backshell Ports to the Connector when needed. I am also attempting to use the Pin Parameter functionality to populate my Connector Contacts with contact specific information. I am interested if anybody is doing this, I have hit a few bumps along the way, stuck on one now, so I thought I would reach out to see how everybody else is handling this?
How does one borrow a Cabling license? I cannot find other instructions that this one for Simulate: https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS128697&posno=1&q=CS128697&ProductFamily=Creo%20%26%20Pro%2FENGINEER%7CCreo%20Simulate%20%26%20Pro%2FMechanica&source=search I cannot get it to work in the same way for a Cabling license. It only works for Schematics. Thank you in advance for any leads.
I have a full license the entire suite, all software work well. I think when I start schematics 1.0 says: unable to obtain license for Creo schematics. I just think schematics 3.0 and Schematics 2.0 works, but I need the 1.0. above do all procedemientoras to start Schem 2.0. Now me so with Schem 1.0. (try the same procedure you explain me, but this time it turned out)

For Pro/E and Creo current functionalities, to support NX, Solidworks or Inventor, user have to install a licensed NX, Solidworks and Inventor on the same machine, which is unreasonable and impossible to do since I just get 3-rd files from provider and have no licensed NX, Solidworks and Inventor on the same machine. So PTC should improve support NX, Solidworks and Inventor. Just support like CATIA, only INTF_FOR_CAT is enough, needn't install licensed 3-rd software Since PTC propagandizes AnyData, should support SolidEdge too since more and more SMB use SolidEdge as the structure design tool. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. When routing wires and cables manually, a reference designator is created for the connectors / components to and from which the cable is routed. This creates a Reference Designator. How do you change the name of the Reference Designator? Here's what doesn't work: Selecting the Annotation and RMB Properties. Adding a column for REF_DES in the Model Tree and changing the name there. How do you change it? (Hint: the Help Section won't tell you how.) Click on the Cabling Parameters command and then select the component. Then you can change the name in the Electrical Parameters dialog box. This needs to be easier and more intuitive.
Many CAD packages have worked with 3D Connexion to add their "auto-center" feature as an enhancement to their CAD experience. I see value in designers using a 3D mouse in collaboration with their CAD program, e.g. CREO, but ONLY if the "auto-center" is incorporated into its functionality. Please contact me, or 3D connexion for the appropriate contact to allow our designer's to efficiently use this hardware to boost the CAD experience with CREO and the 3D mouse. I think this should be able to implement this functionality in model and sketch, to be able to set snaplines already and once in sketch or model and then if user wish to show annotation on drawing or more drawings view all dimmensions will be cleanup already!
Creo Illustrate 3.0 M030 will ship in mid-February and this blog and video provides a sneak peak at what will be new in this latest release. There are 3 major enhancements in this release: Externalize text from illustrations for translation; enabling multi-language illustrations Export an image map file to enable hotspots on a raster image Improve file performance for large models with many figures There are also a number of smaller enhancements and it’s worth noting that these are now detailed in the regular Creo Illustrate documentation (any late breaking news will still be in the ‘read this first’ which ships with the product and is also on PTC.com). I hope you find this information helpful
After all of these years... Why does Creo still not have Polygon and Slot as standard options?? Am I missing something? Add Polygon to rectangle and Slot to Ellipse?
I like to have the following enhancement for the Creo UI Editor and it's resourcefiles. Ability to use variables in resource files to improve consistency. One example: Instead of specifying (.FontSize 12) for every resource in every layout I would like to define a variable MyFontSize and use it in the resource definition (.FontSize MyFontSize). We need the default setting to Aspect ratio of Sketch Text. It might be controlled by configuration setting "text_width_factor". Or create a new configuration setting. Best regards,
I've been using 3rd party software to generate pneumatic/hydraulic schematics; typically pretty simple and straight forward. Nothing fancy. It has been working okay for a while, but I stumbled upon reference to "PTC Creo Schematics Lite". Keeping my schematics together with my cad would be awesome, but I don't do enough to justify buying a full blown addon. At the end of the 5 page data sheet PDF for PTC Creo Schematics it claims there's a free "Lite" download. Yet after lots of searching I haven't found it anywhere. Does anyone know if this still exists in "Lite" verstion? If so, any ideas where I can find the download link? Thanks!
When "editing" a dimension on the screen in part mode (pick feature, RMB edit), it regenerates to give you a preview. Then if you like it, it regenerates AGAIN. WHY??????? Then, once you are done editing, you must regenerate 3 more times to get the green light? (probably because of relations and paramters). Does PTC realize how much extra time this takes to regenerate 5 times? The best way around this I have found -- and it only cuts 1 regeneration -- is to redefine the feature you want to edit instead of editing it. If it fails you still get a chance to "undo" it. You would think that PTC would have this figured out. Have I metioned that I absolutelly HATE CREO!!!!!This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. There is no method (to my knowledge) of having two cables with a shared conductor spool (i.e., CABLE_SPOOL_1, and CABLE_SPOOL_2, both use a similar conductor spool CONDUCTOR_SPOOL_1. As of right now, both cable spools CABLE_SPOOL_1 and CABLE_SPOOL_2 must have independent definition of that same conductor. Therefore, the parameters associated with that conductor must be explicity called out in the logical data, or explicitally created by hand, for each cable. Creating a method to have common conductor, as well as a method to edit/add/remove conductor spools from a cable spool within the "Spool Manager", would simplify NWF/logical data and modifications to cable design, and could be used to help identify exact required cable lengths "per spool", to be used for purchasing. One piece of proof towards the fact that this is currently missing functionality: In Pro/TOOLKIT, the object ProCableType includes definition for PRO_CABLETYPE_CONDUCTOR... however when attempting to crea
Sketcher intent manager does not horizontally or vertically constrain sketched geometry points. While it does automatically dimension them, it will not assume horizontal or vertical constraints when sketching geometry points in proximity to already placed sketched points. The work around for this is to sketch construction centerlines for the geometry points to snap to or manually add horizontal/vertical constraints. If this functionality is added it should work the same as sketching holes with intent manager. Horizontal and vertical constraints are automatically added if the sketched hole is in line with other existing sketched holes. This enhancement would be a considerable productivity increase.
Buil in an automatic save before sketcher or imbeded sketcher is opened. This is to prevent CREO bombing out when sketcher looses control and a lot of work is lost.
Hello all, I need someone, anyone, to point out where to change drawing units from inches to millimeters. It looks like the default should be in 'mm' but every integer has been converted into imperical inches. For example, anywhere a 4mm entry had been by default, the integer will be already been converted into inches (with values such as 0.157480). See the attached image for reference. I must have checked every menu within the software and looked at every tutorial video related to Creo Schematics with the possibility someone may show where to change the default unit to display metric values. It might be a file parameter that needs to be changed outside of software, but before I go diving into the hundreds of files associated with the design, do any of you have an easy or direct way to change the drawing units? Thanks in advance P.S.: I'm referring directly to Creo Schematics (RSD 10.0) and not Creo 2.0 (Pro/E)

For me it is possible to unify these two functions. Practically if I have only one section for every group (1+1) it works like sweep (even for non 2D sections). The same for 2+1 sections. Naturally it all this with tangency controls. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I think beside "Lock" and "Strong" we should have "Fixed" for maintaining those dimension even scaling model. If user set the dimension to be fixed nothing can change the value - at the moment I obtain similar result using relations, but it works only after regeneration, but fixed dimension will remain the same always until user manually not change it.
Would be nice to add the value and the type of chamfer (symetric, LxL, Lxangle, etc...) in a window, or pop up, before selecting the sketch items. Cheers, Luís
