Creo Student license activations (error “(-9) Invalid host” & “maximum number of license requests)

Hello PTC Academic Support,

I’m a student trying to run Creo Parametric and my node-locked student license is failing with:
• “License request failed for feature … license.dat: (-9) Invalid host.”
• When I run reconfigure.exe and enter my product code, I get: “You have reached the maximum number of license requests available for your product type.”

Could you please reset my student license activations or reissue a license tied to my current host ID?

Details:
• Product code originally used: BK120908EDUNIVERSITYED
• PTC Academic account email: poor0041@umn.edu

It would work when I would try to reconfigure it but now I have run out of license. but it only doesn't work on EDroam wifi it seems.
• Computer name: Nicks-Laptop
• OS: Windows 10 (Version 10.0.26100.6584)
• Current active adapter MAC (host ID): 3E-C3-27-C4-FE-F2
• License file HOSTID currently tied to: 32-DA-63-A1-9A-2F
• Error dialogs: “(-9) Invalid host” in Creo; “maximum number of license requests” in reconfigure.exe
• License files path: C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing\

I can attach my current license.dat and a screenshot of the error if helpful.

Thank you!

Hi,

first of all you have to know the right MAC address. I can help you to solve this "problem" if you upload ip.txt file generated by following command executed in Command prompt window.

ipconfig /all > ip.txt

---

If your computer has an Ethernet card, then it's a good idea to use its MAC address.

---

If your computer only contains a WiFi card, then you must first disable randomization of its MAC address. Only after performing this action and restarting the computer can you find out the hardware MAC address of the WiFi card and use it to obtain a license.
