How to set duration of activities as calendar days instead of working days?

Hi,

We are an FTC team and trying to use Windchill to set up the project plan for the season. Since our team is high school students, the normal resource definition is not applied to us. When we create the activities, we would like to have the duration set automatically as the calendar day duration from the estimated start to the end date. But currently it is calculated to a bigger number than the actual calendar days.

Is there a special setting we should use to get it display correctly to us?

Also would like to know the best practice in recording the status of the activity. The activities normally span for a few weeks, we would like to record status updates during our weekly team meeting.
