MES Local Host setup

Hello, I am following the IOT CONNECTIVITY WITH THINGWORX course but I am stuck at the MES setup, since I am using localhost setup and the tutorial connects to a remote server since they are using thingworx academic. Is there a guide I can refer to? Following the steps I have found I am always given the following errors:

SDK: Error intializing socket connection. Err = -1

twWs_Connect: Error restarting socket. Error 0
