Problems of Creo Assembly

Creo 9.0.4.0 Educational Edition

 

I came across this problem when I try to use a pin connection to assemble the component "SELF-LOCKING-MECHANISM.ASM". 

 

The assembly was smooth and seems no problem, but when this is done I try to drag the component to see if its going to rotate correctly, Then this pin connection is not working and software had a small error reply, I cannot correctly drag this part. 

 

The software tells me that "The connection "Connection_29" of component SELF-LOCKING-MECHANISM.ASM from CLIMBING-ASM.ASM with id path [ 132 ] will be suppressed because of invalid constraint(s)."

Hoping to find any skilled people that can help me to sort this out.

Hi,

I cannot open your assembly because I use commercial license. But I guess that the problem can be caused by assembly references shown in following picture.

My suggestion - do following test:

  • create new axis in climbing-asm.asm
  • create new axis in self-locking-mechanism.asm
  • assemble new instance of self-locking-mechanism.asm into climbing-asm.asm using pin connection
    • select two above mentioned axes as references of pin connection
  • try rotating new instance of self-locking-mechanism.asm

If rotation of new instance of self-locking-mechanism.asm works well than you can modify your original connection.

 

Note: Maybe the problem is not caused by assembly references. It can be caused by entity you selected at the start of Drag action.
