rouble Installing KEPServerEX – Installation Failed (Error 1638) & Config Issues

Hello Community,

I am facing multiple issues while trying to install and configure K

  1. Installation Failure:

    • When I try to install after uninstalling, the installation fails with Error 1638: Another version of this product is already installed.

    • I tried uninstalling completely, but it seems some remnants are preventing reinstallation.

  2. Password/User Issue:

    • I forgot the pas.

    • I tried looking in UserInfo5.xml and other configuration files, but the options to reset the password are missing or invalid.

    • Right-clicking on OPC UA Config in the taskbar shows errors related to XML or missing configuration.

  3. Current Goal:

    • I want to completely uninstall and reinstall it fresh.

    • I also want to reset the password so I can access OPC UA configuration.

Has anyone faced similar issues? Could you please guide me on:

  • How to fully remove k and all related files/registry entries.

  • How to reset the password safely without losing configuration.

  • Any tips to avoid Error 1638 during reinstall.
