What should I look for in a laptop for running Creo?

I am a high school students looking for a laptop for college next year. I know I am going to be doing a lot of CAD work (this year, in FIRST robotics, I am using Creo) in mechanical engineering, so I need something powerful, but also something I can carry around.

 

I am stuck between these two laptops:

Both laptops are 15 in and have 8 gigs of RAM. The LG laptop has a weaker processor, but has a number pad, which I have never cadded without.

 

If there are any laptops for under or around $1000 that are light (less than 3 pounds) and are CAD friendly, please mention them.

PTC has a recommendation list for supported computers. One source of complaints is over the graphics subsystem. I don't know how well the latest versions of software on the latest versions of OS and hardware, et al, perform. I do know that Nvidia professional processors have fewer problems; even the lowest of them, while AMD and Intel have more compatibility complaints. I would look for dedicated graphics vs. built-in Intel graphics. I've never had good luck working on machines with Intel graphics. My personal preference is Nvidia. I have never had a problem with an Nvidia graphhics system and for me, they are the best you can buy.
