PTC is taking Windchill offline for an hour this Friday to install and configure some software updates to the system. There should be no data loss, just system downtime.

To ensure there is no data loss, be sure to check in any CAD models in your workspaces before Friday morning.

The updates will address three important topics.

  • Creating and Editing Document Attachments
  • Making Projects visible to Guest members
  • Publishing support for the following file types: BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, TIF, PDF, DRW & DXF

The update is complete. I have not heard any bad news from teams, so I am assuming everyone is still up and running without any issues. Regarding the changes, you can now create attachments on your documents, but you must first Check Out the document. If you add members to the Guest role in your project, they will see the project name listed in the Navigator and you should see thumbnail images for all the new file types identified.

We're still working on some issues with TIF and PVZ, but they should be resolved next week.
