Track and highlight changes to technical support articles

@PeterCase @RomainGarcia ,

One of the most useful things when reading a modified support article is being able to see what changes have been made to it.

Until now, this hasn’t been possible, but while reading the updates to this critical article, which has been edited several times in recent days, I noticed that a table with the change log has been added at the bottom of the page.

Was this done solely because of the urgency of the article’s content and the frequent edits, or are you working on extending this feature to all other edited articles as well?

Thanks

Marco

Hi @Marco Tosin ,

We implemented a track changes table only for this article because it is both highly dynamic and particularly important.

I completely understand your question—we have the same need internally. While a track changes table brings clear benefits, it also has drawbacks, such as increasing article size and ongoing maintenance costs (including translations).

I’ll submit this as an enhancement request to our regional leaders in charge of the PTC Content standard and will share their feedback with you once I have it.

Thanks a lot for raising this point!

Romain
