Everybody is hunkering down around here. From this afternoon through Saturday night they are talking 9-14" of snow. Gonna throw another log on the fire when I get home from work.     Once an engineer was driving along a ranch and killed a calf that was crossing the road. The driver went to the owner of the calf and explained what had happened. He then asked what the animal was worth.“Oh, about $200 today,” said the rancher. “But in six years it would have been worth $900. So $900 is what I’m out.”The engineer sat down and wrote out a check and handed it to the rancher. “Here,” he said, “is the check for $900. It’s postdated six years from now.”

It is getting to the time of the year where it seems like I am out of the office as much as I am in the office. Enjoy time with your families during Christmas.   Do you have a favorite past time? Do you have a favorite movie?       From a engineering standpoint, I would recommend watching Arthur Christmas. Especially the opening scene with the sleigh and the action packed first present drop.   Even  though my kids are grown, we still read a silly little kid's book with Pinky asking, "Is it Christmas, yet?"

Welcome to December. Hope you had a terrific week. The time of waiting has begun....     A programmer and an engineer were sitting next to each other on an airplane. The programmer leans over and asks if he wants to play a fun game. The engineer just wants to be left alone, so he politely declines, turns away, and tries to sleep.   The programmer continues to pester the engineer. “C’mon, it’s a really easy game. I ask a question and if you don’t know the answer you pay me $5. Then you ask me a question and if I don’t know the answer, I’ll pay you $5.” Again, the engineer declines and tries to sleep.   The programmer really wants to play the game and says, “OK, if you don’t know the answer, you pay me $5, and if I don’t know the answer, I’ll pay you $50!”   The engineer grins and agrees to play. Whether you have a Thanksgiving holiday this week or not. Take a moment, look around you, see how much you have been blessed through both the good times and even through the hard times. Similar to trees, our roots grow deeper and stronger through the testing of the winds that blow. I am thankful for:Family, Friends, Church family (both local and abroad), job, health (new knees almost 2 years old), warm house, plenty of clothes,…..   Count your many blessing, name them one by one, and it will surprise you …..   What are you thankful for?

PTO tomorrow so a bit early this week:   GETTING READY FOR THANKSGIVING LEFTOVERS, SOME SCIENTISTS RECENTLY PLACED A 10-PIECE SET OF MATCHING TUPPERWARE IN A SEALED CHAMBER.   WHEN THEY OPENED IT A MONTH LATER THE CHAMBER HAD 24 LIDS THAT DID NOT MATCH ANY OF THE 6 REMAINING CONTAINERES.   ALSO, 7 LIDS WERE CRACKED ON THE EDGE.

It's been very fall-ish here lately. Grey skies, intermittent lake effect precipitation, temp mid 50's, leaves changing colors before their decent onto the earth. Significant change in the weather this weekend. Mid 80's earlier this week, mid 50's this weekend. Love the change in seasons....  Need to get the home ready (I meant ohm)..     So an electrical engineer built a house entirely out of resistors. The welcome mat said   Ohm Sweet Ohm.      

Leaves are starting to turn color around here. Going on a little bit of a color tour tomorrow and a couple of nature walks. It is supposed to be a beautiful day to enjoy the creation.     I can’t believe they gave that engineer who wrecked the train in New York the electric chair.   And he survived it!   I guess he just wasn’t a very good conductor.

My wife's class reunion this Saturday night.... Where does the time go? Spend some time with the ones you love, it goes by soooo quickly.     The programmer got stuck in the shower because the instructions on the shampoo bottle said:   Lather, rinse, repeat….
