Converting from education version to commercial version

To the best of my knowledge there is no way to open educational version files in the commercial version. This is likely done so people can't get the educational version, which is free, and use it to make money.

I recall discussions in the past that implied that PTC could convert files over on a one time only basis but I don't know if this is true or if it would cost money. You might want to talk to whoever you bought your license from.

I don't think there is any sort of restriction on who can get an educational license. You might be able to just get another copy and work with that.

Alternatively, just rebuild the models in the commercial version, if you have sufficient info from the first time you did them. They'll likely be a lot "cleaner" given what you learned the first time around...

It is possible to convert models saved in an educational version to be compatible with a commercial version. If your VAR (vendor who sold Creo to you) is not able to do it then PTC can do it for you. I don't think that they will charge you to do this if you have a current license on maintenance.
