Creo 5.0 Parametric Saving Problems

Hello all!

 

I've been having problems with how Creo saves files. When I save an assembly as a copy, other applications (such as ANSYS SpaceClaim) are unable to open the file, even when they were able to open the original assembly. 

 

Does this have something to do with references?

Does the file stand alone after you save it as a copy? 

 

 

I am in no way an expert in Creo so any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Are you saving assembly at the same location where parent assembly is? I don't have experience in Ansys but I think failure is due to loading of parts, somehow Ansys might be failing in location assembly components. 

    If you will save assembly as new at parent assembly location and if that retrieves, it will confirm that Ansys is failing on loading components.
