Diamond screw mechansim

I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.2.0

What is the best way to set up a diamond screw for mechansim design? The principle is a helix groove in the shaft and a "knife" or tap in a follower to drive the follower over the distance of the groove. I tried using cam follower over a curve in the helix, but it will only take a partial of the length of the screw.

Anyone tried something similar or have any ideas?
