Embedded browser in 64 bit proe

Do we know for a fact that Wildfire64bit is using the 64bit version
of internet Explorer as the browser.

HAD TWO RESPONSES: As shown below. Im still not sure. I would argue
that the native(default) browser in Win764 is the 32 bit. Does
anyone know how to tell what the default browser is? On my fresh OOTB
install of win7 64, if I click on an htm page, it opens in IE 32 bit.
In my case I want the 64 bit working as the embedded browser. We are
having memory issues. Why else have I gone to 64 bit?

I opened a ticket w/ PTC a bit ago to see if I could tell Pro/E which IE
to run 32 or 64. They responded that there was no such capability and
that the default was to use the native IE. So 32 bit IE for 32 bit OS
and 64 bit IE for a 64 bit OS.

We are running 64 bit Wildfire 3 (M250) with Pro/INTRALINK 9.1 and we
had been having a problem with Edit Attachments in the embedded browser.
I opened a call with PTC because when we would select Add Attachment or
Edit, we kept getting a prompt to install JRE. After the installation
was complete, we still could not use the Java applets used by Edit
Attachments. PTC confirmed that the embedded browser does indeed use
64 bit IE. In our case, the prompt to install the JRE was installing
(and reinstalling every time) the 32 bit JRE (a bug on their part). We
had to manually install the 64 bit JRE and all worked as expected.



What that does mean for use is that because our default standalone IE is
32 bit and Pro/ENGINEER uses 64 bit, we need to have both 32 bit and 64
bit JRE on the workstations. This ensures that all applets work
regardless of where they are started.

Any updates to this old thread?

We are still wanting to confirm the Wildfire 4.0 embedded browser is
32-bit? or 64-bit? (See CS53749)

Our indications are 64-bit for embedded - not until we specifically
installed Java 64-bit (in addition to the 32-bit Java) we were getting "NO
WORKING JAVA DETECTED" message response when running this test from
Oracle.....
