extra space when dual dimensioning

When we use dual dimensioning there is an extra space added that is not desired.

it should look like this " M3 X .5" instead it looks like "M3 X .5"

Has anybody seen this before?

Yes, it has to do with the font you are using. I couldn't get PTC to
open an SPR on it, maybe you can. You can either change font or usually
it is resolved if you "Stroke All Fonts" when you publish.

Beware, "stroking all fonts" can create enormous PDFs

We are experiencing the same problem and I have yet to figure out how to correct it. We're bound by our "required" font. I'd like to think that I shouldn't have to change my font to fix it and instead it just shouldn't be there or be fixed, but I know that's too much to ask from PTC sometimes. We're using Pro/E Wildfire 5.0, date code M050. Does anyone else have these issues with, say, Creo Parametric?

I don’t think there is anything you can do about it. The secondary unit with brackets is taking up the extra space. Pro/E has always done that with any font I’ve used.



My question is why doesn’t it have a secondary unit call out for the thread pitch?

On a similar vein, PTC may not be totally weird here, not having a
correct format for dual dimensioning a threaded hole, as I would expect
there is no equivalent to M3 X .5 in Imperial (or US units) and dual
dimensioning should not apply. If I were inspecting an M3 x .5 thread,
I would have to buy an appropriate thread gage and have the cert list
the compliance in metric units.



I wouldn't expect some type of metric dual dimensioning for a
.500-13UNC-2B hole as well. 12.7-.511UNC(?)-2B(?) would be so bad it's
not even wrong.
