A follow-up Q. on processors. I've understood that cache is important
and faster clock speed is preferable over multiple cores. Given that,
with these choices, would you go with the low end i7 dual core or spend
the money for more cache?
i7-920XM Extreme Edition 2.00GHz 8MB [add $850.00]
i7-820QM Quad Core 1.73GHz 8MB [add $320.00]
i7-720QM Quad Core 1.60GHz 6MB [add $175.00]
i7-620M Dual Core 2.66GHz 4MB [add $95.00]
I don't think the top two make much sense, money wise, so the choice is
the 620 vs. the 720. The 620 will boost (overclock) to 3.33 GHz and the
720 will boost to 2.80 GHz, but the 720 has 50% more cache.
Which is more important?
