  • I have an old version of Wildfire 5 still running on a very old laptop. I would like to install the software on my new laptop as the oridgal laptop is on its last legs. But because I am no longer on maintenance this appears to be impossible. Login to my account then go to support and I am hit the same stone wall, you are not on maintenance. You cannot proceed bla bla bla. Is there a solution? Please help.

Assuming that you own a perpetual license for the WF5 installed on your computer then I believe that you are able to get a new license file assigned to a different CPU ID. If you bought this license from a VAR and not PTC directly then contact them for help.

Obviously if you are not able to log on the PTC support you would not be able to generate the new license via the web but if the VAR is not able to help you then call/write to PTC directly for assistance.

Yes I own the perpetual license, The Vender I spend many years buying PTC products from closed down. In New Zealand there is no Vender. We are serviced by another country. I have no relationship with this company but will try and contact them.. Surely I am not the only person to have had this issue. Once a product is unsupported by PTC. PTC should send all customers a flexible license so they can move the software from old computer to new, regardless if that customers is on maintenance or not.

License Management can also be reached via email: wwlm@ptc.com. I would send them a detailed email explaining your situation.
